If you’re a collector of great wine-tasting experiences, be sure to get off the beaten path and venture into the beautiful pastoral hills of New York State’s Chenango Valley. Just a short ride north of Binghamton on Route 12, you’ll come into Cloverdale, home of the delightful Black Bear Winery.
A true innovator and the premiere fruit winery in Central New York, Black Bear produces unique, award-winning wines you can truly savor. The wines are crafted from top quality local fruit, aged, bottled, and sold on the winery premises. As much a tavern as a winery, you will be entertained and informed as you meet new friends and enjoy a most memorable wine-tasting experience.
Black Bear Winery offers a wide variety of wines – from bone dry to dessert-style sweets – plus hard ciders, olde world meads, and more. While fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries make the more traditional wines, you’ll want to sample the plum, cranberry, cherry, and blackberry for a new taste experience.
Hard Ciders – traditional, interesting, some sparkling – will take you back to the days of the historical local Chenango canal. The meads will broaden your tasting horizons. These were the chosen drinks of kings, queens, Vikings, and monks. One sip and you will understand. Tasting these will add to your “off the beaten path” experience.
Black Bear Winery reflects people’s interests in diversity and is helping to drive wine industry trends. So, novice or experienced taster, be sure to add this tasting experience to your collection. You will not be disappointed!
