Incredible, Bailey.
The May issue of Connections has been a blessing for the festival as well. "Where'd you hear about the festival?" "Connections."
Love it. Thanks for your participation!

Hi Meica,
It looks as though we've made it through the list of Black Bear Conservatory faculty members to be profiled in the "Maestros in our Midst" series. There is the possibility for a final piece focused on a new initiative being undertaken by BBCM. Over the next several months, the Conservatory will launch a campaign to redefine its community image based upon updated goals. The effort includes a new logo and slogan, "Where Music Begins," and an increased focus on music education from K through 6th grade. If Connections is willing to run this in the next issue, it could serve as a wrap-up to the series as well. Please let me know if this would work and I'll get the story and photo to you in time for the next deadline.
Many thanks for the magazine's generous support of the Conservatory by running this series. We greatly appreciate having had the opportunity to be regularly featured in Connections and wish you ongoing success with the publication.
Best wishes,
Sandy Long

Dear Editor:
I am, as always, so proud of Milford! The Winter Lights Festival was beautiful and inspiring. Thanks to all the sponsors such as Connections Magazine and Chant, to the Marie Zimmerman Center, Father McGinty at Good Shepherd Church, Tom Holmes, Michael and Mary Carson, Milford Borough Parks and Recreation Committee and Liz Samuelson, DVHS, PCAC, the Courier, and the residents of Ann and Catharine Streets and everyone else involved in warming up winter so well.
Thanks also to Libby Cotterill at the Artery and, especially, to Denny Wagner and Lori Strelecki at The Columns. I was thrilled to be able to bring a couple of dozen students and their families over from NY to show off our hometown with enormous pride.

Hello Bailey,
Each time I read or see a copy of Connections around town I get the urge to drop you a line or two......so here's a few.
Your Magazine is surpassing all the other local mags...it's a class act and seems to get better and better. I am literally drawn to your eye-catching covers and start looking for the latest edition the first week of every month. Need I mention that Jerry Garcia's eyes followed me around the room.
I have brought copies to my clients in Pt. Jervis, Sparrowbush, Matamoras and as far away as my daughter in Ohio. All found articles that were of interest to them and each reader was very complimentary. There's quite an age gap there so you definitely appeal to all ages.
The articles are well done, easy to understand and very informative. And I must mention that your advertisements are colorful and easy to read (my clients have mentioned this too). It's hard to believe that you can cover Medical, Recreation, Musical, Real Estate, Art, Pets, Life, Lifestyles,Recipes and so much more month after month and keep it so interesting. Because of all the information you give out, we are better informed about what is going on and what is offered in our areas as well as outlying areas. I thank you for that and the enjoyable read each month.
When I open Connections, the first thing I read is ...What a Dilemma...it starts your magazine for me, kind of like "Once upon a time" starts a story. I believe in the message and love the part about your Dad... that's a beautiful story too.
Regards,
Lily Stewart

Dear Masha,
I just read your article "Chemical Soup or Bioelectric Ecosystem" in the July Connections Magazine. Thank you, thank you, thank you for that wonderful and well-worded contribution! I am an advanced practice (critical care) RN of over twenty years and started doing live and dried blood cell nutritional auditing last year and just recently started doing bioterrain auditing, which is based on the 'body electric.' It was so refreshing to hear a nutritionist actually state the facts you did in your article as it seems most nutritionists are on board with the allopathic app-roach to health and Big Pharma. I am going to cite your article to the folks I work with, regarding the biological terrain auditing and live and dried blood auditing, if you don't mind.
Thanks you again for such a welcome breath of fresh air!

Dear John,
Please pass on to Allison Mowatt and your editors how pleased we were to get instant success resulting from the article written on Education and Foster Care in the Connections August issue. A couple who receives the magazine by mail read the article and called us the same day the issue went out, to begin the process of becoming a foster parent. They said they were inspired by the content to offer the use of two bedrooms in their home for foster care. Think of the lives that could be positively effected by your willingness to highlight the need, and to print the number: 1-866-4KIDSPEACE!
Thank-you again for your kind attention to our cause.

Dear Bailey,
On behalf of the Greater Honesdale Partnership, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to you for the wonderful job you and your crew did this year with the children's pumpkin painting in conjunction with Harvest & Heritage Days!
As you know, this was a brand new event and it was extremely generous of you to agree to take it on. From what I could see, the kids had a great time painting their very own pumpkins.
What impressed me the most was all the extra time and effort you put into it by offering all the extra goodies to the children. It really made the event personal and very special, and I know that all the parents and kids alike appreciated it tremendously.
It is always nice when a board member or member business takes it upon themselves to try and help make one of our events bigger and better. The realization is that if an event is successful, it is a positive reflection on the town as a whole.
Thanks again for all you did, and please extend my sincere thanks to everyone that helped you. Connections Magazine truly helped make Honesdale look its best for all our visitors, guests and those of us that call it home. I hope that you will consider taking on this project again in 2009.
Sincerely.

Dear Bailey and Connections Magazine,
On behalf of Safe Haven, Inc. of Pike County, I would like to thank you for doing so much for our Paint Pike Purple (PPP) Domestic Violence Awareness campaign. We are very grateful for the publicity you provided in your October 2008 issue-the cover art and articles gave us amazing exposure. In addition, the events calendars you designed and donated provided a beautiful way to inform the public about the PPP activities.
I would also like to thank you in advance for including future Safe Haven articles in Connections Magazine. The more that people learn about us and our services, the better we can serve victims and educate others about domestic violence and sexual abuse. Thank you for playing such an important role in bringing attention to us and our cause.
Each year Safe Haven continues to advance its mission of restoring dignity to individuals dealing with issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse through crisis intervention, supportive counseling, prevention education, and community outreach. Last year Safe Haven provided over 3,000 hours of service to over 992 clients through hotline services, individual counseling, support groups and advocacy services. Safe Haven certified volunteers answered 683 hotline calls. We provided emergency shelter services to over 14 adults and 12 children. Where would they have been without us? Our education outreach program provided 425 programs to over 3,141 students. Our programming to incarcerated women resulted in over 68 incarcerated women receiving services at the Pike County Correctional Facility. Our services are vital to all areas of the community. Violence knows no boundaries.
Thank you again for your generous and ongoing support to make our community a safer place for everyone. Together we are making a difference.
Sincerely,
Linda LaStarza
Executive Director

Dear Connections,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I just read the [Unsung Hero] article written by Joshua about my daughter, Catherine. It is wonderful! I don't know how else to tell you how great I feel right now. She is so very excited too. We are very pleased with the outcome of the article and appreciate you taking the time to interview Catherine and tell her story.
Thanks a MILLION!
